AGM Notice

Notice is hereby given that the ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING of the ASSOCIATION for the year 2020-2021 will be held on Sunday 27th December 2020 at 10:30AM at SHREE ADIGA RESIDENCY - Gandhinagar to transact the following Agenda. All members are requested to attend the Meeting.

  • Meeting called to the ORDER.
  • Lamp Lightning and Mangalacharan.
  • Welcome Address by PRESIDENT.
  • Annual Report by SECRETARY
  • To Read and adapt the Audited Financial statements for the F.Y. 2019-2020.
  • Approval of appointment of Auditor for the F.Y. 2020-21 & 2021-2022.
  • Proposal and approval to WAIVER OF Annual Subscription Fee up to March 2022.
  • Ammendment of CLAUSES OF BYE - LAWS : POINT IV Clause b

Secretary's Report

K.I.A. Purpose & Motto

On 27-08-2018 - like minded people met & discussed the issues faced by innerwear manufacturers and distributors and how to resolve the Issues and an Idea was generated to form an association for better coordination between members.

Again on 07-09-2018, we met and formed the association - KARNATAKA INNERWEAR ASSOCIAION. The team was formed by selection, and decided to add new members with admission fee of Rs. 3000.00 plus annual subscription fee of Rs. 1000.00.

On 17-09-2019 KIA was registered and we called a meet of innerwear distributors and manufacturers On 11-10-2019. Aproximately 50 innerwear distributors and manufacturers met at SLV Delight. It was a very good meet where all the members were introduced . Many good suggestions, on how to improve our association, were discussed. This was followed by dinner.

On 06-11-2019 working committee meeting was held at Sagar Hotel and discussed how to increase our network. We formed 5 zones to develop the KIA network.

On 30-5-2020 working committee members met and finalized the system to provide sanitizer pedal stands to retailers.

On 05-9-2020 working committee members met at West Fort Hotel. We decided to appoint Mr. Umesh Jain – C.A. for finalizing and filing the financial papers for the year 2019-2020. He agreed to give his services free of cost.

Also I want to highlight that the expenses of all the Meetings held until now by the committee members were borne personally by committee members.

I want to highlight few of the works carried out by present committee members with the help of our esteemed members:

Registration of KIA by framing bye–laws. Important points of bye-laws are:

  1. Only manufacturers and manufacturers of innerwear industry will be allowed to join as members
  2. Admission fee of 3000.00 and annual subscription fee of Rs 1000.00 (Ending on 31st of March) will be collected.
  3. Number of office bearers will be restricted to a maximum of 9.
  4. Number of working committee members will be restricted to a maximum of 21 (including the office bearers).
  5. Elections will be held once in 2 years.
  6. AGM will be held annually between April – June.

As on today the number of registered members with KIA is 64. Around a period of 1-year of formation we have grown to 64 members. I request all of you to add at least 2 members each so that we can touch a good figure of 200 members.

Before the registration of KIA, all our selected committee members put in hard efforts and successfully organized Innerwear Fair Along With Fashion Connect in June 2019 at Hotel Lalit Ashok – Bangalore. Famous Fashion Designer Prasad Bidappa ji had also visited and gave us tips. In the fair aproximately 350 innerwear retailers visited the stalls. It was a good brand promotion event along with good bookings. Brands who participated in the Fair are as follows:

During the Covid-19 pandemic period, we have sent memorandum to the concerned ministry stating problems faced by innerwear industry. I would like to thank our government as many our demands were fulfilled.

We distributed sanitizer pedal stands to around 500 retailers all over Bangalore, which highlighted to retailers that a distributor's association has been formed and all distributors are united.

We want to thank our valued sponsors who came forward and helped us in the social cause of supplying stands to retailers. They are Real Covid Warriers. The brand names are:

We also met the then city Police Commissioner, Shri Bhaskar Raoji and appreciated his work in handling Covid-19 pandemic and presented him with Covid Warrier Certificate. As a goodwill gesture we presented couple of sanitizer pedal stand to his office.

We met and felicitated the new president of FKCCI, Mr. Perikar M. Sunder at the FKCCI office.

We met and felicitated Mr. Dinesh Gundu Rao at BBMP Office.

We met our youngest MP Mr. Tejasvi Surya at his office and submited memorandam for single tax slab for our industry.

We have already started helping our members in following party (retailers) reference - before supplying goods to a new party our members can take reference from other members. This we are doing through a registered official number of KIA so that Identity is not revealed.

We have started helping our members to resolve their financial matters with retailers and suppliers. We have decided that KIA will send a letter on their printed letter head to retailer on members' request. We have already taken legal advisor's advise.

Lastly we need everybody’s support in below points:

  • To Register 200 members with our association
  • All members should not hesitate to give party reference. We assure you that your identity will not be revealed to anyone. Asking for reference is your right but at same time giving reference is also your duty.
  • We request all the members to share the names of bad/problematic dealers along with their GST Number and address. We will prepare a consolidated party list and will share it with all the members.
