Karnataka Innerwear Association Welcomes You
Karnataka Innerwear Association was established in Bangalore in the year 2019. Like minded people met and discussed the issues faced by innerwear manufacturers and distributors and how to resolve them. Thus the idea to form an association for better coordination between members of the innerwear industry was born.
Going by our motto - Unity is Strength for Progress - we have been able to successfully generate an ecosystem where our members can discuss freely about any retailer or supplier with full anonymity. Among several issues that have been successfully been addressed in our forum, one worth mentioning is that our members are safeguarded from trouble-making retailers. We also try to help our members in resolving financial conflicts with retailers and suppliers. Our legal cell tries to resolve conflicts by interacting with concerned parties....
KIA is a team of dedicated members who actively participate in sharing their experiences and interveaning in matters such as sharing references for retailers, settling any conflicts of members with retailers, providing recommendations for the betterment of industry et al.
During the Covid-19 pandemic we sent memoranda to concerned ministries highlighting the problems faced by our industry during those difficult times. KIA is thankful to our government for acting on our feedbackand fulfilling many of our demands.
With the help of sponsorship from members, we distributed sanitizer pedal stands free of cost to around 500 registered retailers across Bangalore to fight the deadly pandemic.
KIA office bearers met Karnataka Governor, Chief Minister, Police Commissioner, Commercial Tax Commissioner and other Government Officers to apprise them of the difficulties faced by our trade. During the GST Council's recommendation to increase GST on garments and innerwear to 12%, KIA sent several memoranda to the Prime Minister, Finance Minister, GST Council Ministry Head et al, until the decision was deferred.
